LoveHappens Basics

What is LoveHappens?

LoveHappens is the world's largest online introductions network where we all work together to help each other find love. It's not a dating site. It's a community-and a whole new way to meet and introduce people. On traditional dating sites you browse pictures and profiles, send someone a message, and hope they turn out to be nice (or at least normal). On LoveHappens you're part of an open community filled with people helping each other find love. And most of the people on LoveHappens have been invited by friends or have friends on the site-which means you probably already know people here.

How much does it cost?

Joining LoveHappens is free -- there is no charge to post a profile or add your photos. It's also free to browse other members' profiles, send pre-written Icebreaker emails or photo requests.

If you would like to send a personal email message to another member you must have an active paid membership to LoveHappens. Membership dues are just $20 a month for the first six months and then free when you remain a paying member for six consecutive months.

3. The next time that member signs in they will be shown your profile

To manage the emails you receive and to stop LoveHappens email alerts, follow the steps below:

Why can't I view the LoveHappens Membership Dues page?

I am not receiving emails. Why?

Emails and messages sent between LoveHappens members are found in your LoveHappens inbox; they are not sent to your personal email account.The only LoveHappens messages you'll receive in your personal email account are new message notifications indicating you have a new mail message in LoveHappens. If you are not receiving these notifications, check to make sure they are not being routed to your email program's "spam" folder.

To access you LoveHappens messages, follow the steps below.

Looking Profiles

How do I edit My looking profile?

To edit your LoveHappens profile:

1. Click the link: http://www.lovehappens.com/user/edit/profile.html
2. Click "Edit" next to the sections you'd like to edit.
3. Make changes
4. Click "save" to save changes

It says my profile isn't 100% complete. How do I finish it?

For your profile to be 100% complete, you must:

1. Complete the TrueMatch Personality Test
2. Completely fill out the Basics, Interests, Personality, and Photo sections of your profile.
3. Upload a main profile photo

To complete any of the sections, click on the title of each section and enter a response to each question asked and make sure you have uploaded a main profile photo.

Note: This score is only viewable to you; other members cannot see it.

How do I hide my looking profile so others cannot see it?

To hide your looking profile:

1. Click the link: http://www.lovehappens.com/account/view.html
2. Under Looking Profile Visibility select "Private"
3. Click "save" to save changes

How can I improve my profile to attract more people?

One of the biggest things you can do to attract more people is post a main profile photo. Members who include a recent photo with their profile get 10 times the attention of those who don't include a photo. In addition to adding photos, we also suggest getting testimonials from your friends.

Main Profile Photo Suggestions:

• Choose a recent photo that's large enough to see your face. A close-up works best
• Try photos taken outdoors - they often provide the best lighting
• A candid shot shows your unique spirit

• Choose photos that illustrate your hobbies and interests

How can I show or hide my test results on my profile?

To add or hide test results to your profile:

1. Go to the Tests section of your profile at: http://www.lovehappens.com/user/edit/tests.html
2. Select or unselect "Show" for the test results you want to show or hide
3. If you want to display all test results, select the check box "Automatically update my profile to show all future test results"
4. Click "save" to save changes

I made changes to my profile. How long will it take until they are approved?

It can take up to 72 hours for new photos and profile text changes to be approved. You will be notified by email once your changes are visible in your profile. If your profile is not accepted for some reason, you will be notified by email.

Can I find out who has viewed my profile?

Currently, LoveHappens does not have the ability to tell you who has viewed your profile.

Why wasn't my looking profile approved?

Your profile will not be approved if it doesn't adhere to our profile submission guidelines or if there is not enough information contained in it to give other members an idea of who you are and who you are looking for. If your profile was not approved, please check to ensure it does not contain:

• Information that could give away your real identity, such as addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, or last names
• Messenger/ Chat screen names or your personal email address
• Inappropriate language and/or pornographic or sexually explicit material
• Culturally insensitive content, such as racism or bigotry
• The promotion of a product or service other than LoveHappens
• Membership information for people under the age of 18

Where do I find my Favorites list?

To find your LoveHappens Favorites list just visit: http://lovehappens.com/matchList/favorites.html or you can follow the steps below:

Helping Profiles & Helping Others

What is my Helping Profile?

Your Helping profile is all about you. It allows LoveHappens members to see who you are, why you want to help others find love and how many people you've helped!

What is a Helper?

Helpers are LoveHappens members who are here to help you find that special someone. You can think of them as cupids or match makers. Helpers can write testimonials for their friends, suggest matches for people they are helping, make suggestions to improve the looking profiles of the people they are helping, or send LoveHappens invitations to their single friends to help them find someone!

Do I have to become a paying member to be a helper?

No. Helping others is totally free on LoveHappens unless you choose to communicate with the people you're helping. To communicate with people you're helping, you must be a paying member or know their personal contact information.

Why would I want to help?

Because you're the kind of person who wants to spread the love around and because you want to help your single friends and family find that special someone. Or, if you're the kind of person who has a knack for making matches or likes to help people, then you certainly want to be a LoveHappens helper!

Inbox

What is the inbox?

The inbox is your private and personal LoveHappens email box. This is where you can manage incoming and outgoing email conversations and friend requests. If a member sends you an Icebreaker, email message, or request to be friends this is where you would go to read it.

To view your inbox, just log in and locate the "inbox" in the upper right.

To view your messages, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your account at: www.lovehappens.com
2. Click "inbox" at the top of the page
3. A list of all the people you're talking to and messages will be displayed

How can I see messages I've sent to members?

To view messages you've sent or received follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your account at: www.lovehappens.com
2. Locate the "inbox" at the upper right corner
3. Click the "messages" link to view your received and sent messages.

Where do I receive emails sent to me by members?

All email messages sent to you by members are found in the LoveHappens "inbox". We do not send member email messages to your personal email account. To view these messages, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your account at: www.lovehappens.com
2. Locate the "inbox"at the upper right corner.
3. Click the "messages" link to view your received and sent messages.

How does the LoveHappens email system work?

LoveHappens preserves your anonymity and privacy by sending all messages through our email messaging system only. Members will never have access to your personal email address (unless you give it to them) and can only contact you through LoveHappens. We do not send member messages to your personal email account. If you are interested in sending email to a member, just click "Email this person" in their profile, type your message and send. Your message will be sent to that member. Messages received are located in your LoveHappens "inbox". To access your messages, follow the steps below:

3. Click the "messages" link to view your received and sent messages.

Paid Memberships

How do I cancel my paid LoveHappens membership?

To cancel your paid LoveHappens membership, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the link: http://www.lovehappens.com/account/view.html
2. Locate the membership section
3. Click "Cancel my renewal" and this will walk you through the cancel process

We do not offer partial refunds.

Since paid memberships are month to month, your cancellation will become effective on the first day your current membership expires. For example, if your current membership is paid through the 17th and you cancel your membership on the 5th, you will not receive a refund. You will however, have access to the service through the 17th and on the 18th, your service will be canceled.

Do I have to be a paying member to reply to a LoveHappens email?

Yes. To reply to an email you've received from another member, you must be a paying LoveHappens member. Once you're a paying member, you can send and receive personalized email messages.

What payment methods does LoveHappens accept?

LoveHappens only accepts online payment by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card and debit cards printed with a Mastercard or Visa logo. You can safely enter your billing information via our secure server, which encrypts all submitted information.

Will I get a partial refund if I cancel my paid membership before it expires?

No. Paid Membership cancellations become effective the first day after your current paid membership expires. For example, if your current membership is paid through the 17th and you cancel your membership on the 5th, you will not receive a refund. You will however, have access to the service through the 17th and on the 18th, your service will be canceled.

What is LoveHappens' refund policy?

Our refund policy is as follows:

Subscriptions are backed by our 14 Day Money Back Guarantee* If for any reason you are not satisfied with your subscription just cancel it within the first 14 days of your first billing cycle and we'll give you your money back.

To take advantage of our Money Back Guarantee, you must mail a postmarked, signed and dated notice, including the email address associated with your subscription and stating that you are canceling your subscription. The postmark date must be within the first 14 days of your first billing cycle. Send the notice to:

Searching & Contacting Members

Why am I being asked to become a paying member when I try to email someone?

To send email messages to another member, you must be a paying LoveHappens member.

To become a paying member, follow the steps below:

2. Log in to your account and follow the online instructions

If you're not ready to subscribe, you can send an Icebreaker to get this person's attention. But remember, Icebreakers are only designed to get someone's attention and cannot be personalized like an email message.

How can I contact another member?

There are two ways you may contact members. You can send a personalized email message or an Icebreaker.

An Icebreaker is one of 12 free anonymous messages you can send to any member to get their attention. You can send an Icebreaker to flirt, say hi, or to initiate a conversation. If you want to send a personalized message, your best bet is to send an email.

To send an email message:

1. Go to the full profile page of the member you'd like to contact
2. Click "Email this person"
3. Compose and send your email

Note: You must be a paying member to send emails to members.

To send an Icebreaker:

1. Go to the full profile of the member you'd like to send an Icebreaker
2. Click "Send a Free Icebreaker"
3. Select the message you want to send
4. Click "Send" to send your Icebreaker

What are virtual flowers?

Virtual flowers are a special way to say hi on LoveHappens. They can be sent to anyone who has a looking profile. When you send a virtual flower the recipient receives an email with the flower and a link to the sender’s profile.

How do I send a virtual flower?

1. Click on any of the flower images on the looking profile page of the person you want to send a virtual flower to.
2. Choose a flower and complete the payment form.
3. Click the “send him/her a flower” button.

Please note that virtual flowers are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What is the friends list?

Your friends list shows all the people you’re connected to on LoveHappens. Whether it’s people you’re helping to find love, or people helping you, they’re all there.

How do I add someone to my friends list?

There are three ways:

1. Click the “add to friend’s list” link on their profile page. We’ll send them an email and if they accept you’ll be added to each other’s friends list.
2. Request a testimonial from a friend not on LoveHappens. When they join they’ll be added to your friends list. Ask for testimonials here http://www.lovehappens.com/story/invite.html
3. Invite more friends to join you on LoveHappens. When they join they’ll be added to your friends list and you’ll be added to theirs. Invite friends here: http://www.lovehappens.com/invite.html?

How do I remove someone from my friends list?

2. Click “remove” under their photo and click “OK” to confirm.

What is an Icebreaker and how do I send one?

2. Click "Email this person"
3. Compose and send your email

How do I reply to an Icebreaker email?

You cannot reply directly to an Icebreaker via email.

You have two options in contacting the member who sent you an Icebreaker. You can send them an email, or you can send them a reply Icebreaker.

To send an email message:

1. Click the link provided in the Icebreaker email to view the member's profile
2. Click "Email this person"
3. Compose and send your email

To send a reply Icebreaker, just click the "reply" option and select the message you wish to send.

Note: To compose a personal email to another member, you must be a paying member.

How do I save or delete a saved search?

To save or delete a search, follow the steps below:

1. Click the link http://www.lovehappens.com/search.html
2. Select your search criteria or search by entering a username
3. At the bottom of the search page, check the box "Save this search as"
4. Enter the name for this search.
5. Click "Search"

To delete a search, just click "Delete" next to the name of a saved search.

How do I block a member from contacting me?

To block a member from contacting you, follow the steps below:

1. Search and locate the full profile of the member you'd like to block
2. Click the link at the bottom of the page that says "Block this Member"
3. Select "Yes" on the Block Member confirmation page

Blocking a member from contacting you will prevent that member from sending you emails or Icebreakers.

Photos

How do I upload a photo?

Uploading photos is easy! Just log in, click the "manage your photos" link just below your name at the upper left corner of the page and our photo manager will walk you through the process.

What are the rules for posting photos?

There are two types of photos you can post to your account and each one has its own set of guidelines.

You can submit a main profile photo or Photo Gallery photos.

Your main profile photo is the picture members see when browsing the site; it will get you noticed. Profile photos must be in focus and contain a face shot of you, the member.

Photo Gallery photos are photos that will help others get to know you better. Generally, these photos depict your favorite hobbies, interests, vacations, and pets but can be anything as long as they meet the photo submission guidelines below.

Main Profile Photo submission guidelines:

File Size: Less than 10MB
File formats: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF

Each Main Profile Photo must:

• Include a picture of the member
• Include a fairly clear face shot
• Be clear enough to see (free of extreme graininess or blur)

We will NOT accept the following Profile Photos:

• Photos without a face shot (unless this is an "additional photo") of the member (no landscapes, etc)
• Copyrighted or trademarked material (cartoons, celebrities, etc)
• Nudity, Pornographic or displays sexually explicit material of any kind
• Depictions of violence, racism or is drug related
• Damaged, corrupted or blurred
• Photos with contact information (email address, phone number, web address, etc)
• Or otherwise violates the LoveHappens Terms of Use

Photo Gallery Photo submission Guidelines:

How do I delete a photo from my profile?

To delete a photo from your LoveHappens profile, follow the steps below:

How long does it take for photos to be approved?

It can take up to 48 - 72 hours for new photos and profile text changes to be approved. You will be notified by email once your changes are visible in your profile. If your profile is not accepted for some reason, you will be notified by email.

What is a testimonial?

Testimonials are testimonials written about you by your friends, family, or anyone who knows you! Generally, testimonials highlight some of your best qualities and interests but can be about anything, even that crazy road trip or family vacation. Even though testimonials are written by others, you have the final decision of whether or not you want to add them to your profile and share them with other members.

Adding testimonials to your profile is simple, just visit: http://www.lovehappens.com/story/invite.html and invite your family and friends to write a testimonial.

How can I get testimonials in my profile?

The first step in getting a testimonial in your profile is to invite your friends and family to write a testimonial about you. It's easy inviting your family and friends, just visit: http://www.lovehappens.com/story/invite.html. After they have written a testimonial, you will receive an email notification requesting your approval.

Who can write a testimonial?

Testimonials can be written by anyone you choose to invite.

Who approves testimonials?

All testimonials are approved by both LoveHappens Customer Care and the person the testimonial is written about. Please allow up to 72 hours for Customer Care to approve a testimonial.

Confession Board

What is the confession board?

The confession board is a place for LoveHappens members to share a story about love, life and the pursuit of a decent relationship.

How do I submit a story to the confession board?

Click on the confession board link at the top of the page and click the “share your story” button.

Who can submit a story to the confession board?

Only LoveHappens members can submit stories to the confession board.

Who reviews stories that appear on the confession board?

The LoveHappens team reviews all stories submitted to the confession board. Members are sent an email when their story has been reviewed.
